On 13th November 2007 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa received in the Patriarchal Offices His Eminence Andreas, Metropolitan of Alba Julias, Hierarch of the Romanian Patriarchate, together with many priests and pilgrims, coming from his ecclesiastical jurisdiction.
Addressing His Beatitude, Metropolitan Andreas passed on the wishes of the new Patriarch Daniel of Romania for the progress of the multifaceted missionary and spiritual work of the Patriarchate for the people of the African Continent and mentioned his memories from the visit of the late Patriarch Parthenios, accompanied by Theodoros II, who was then Bishop of Cyrene, to Romaina.
During his reply, His Beatitude remembered the country and the Church of Romania with gratitude, for their support during the middle ages of the then suffering Patriarchate of Alexandria, by giving monasteries and dependencies for the continued existence of the Patriarchate. He also wished a fruitful and calm patriarchal tenure to the new Primate, His Beatitude Daniel of Romania.
