     On 7th January 2008, H9is Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, officiated at the Divine Liturgy for the Synaxis of the Holy Forerunner and Baptizer John, at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria .

     He then went to the Consualte of Greece in Alexandria , where he conducted the Blessing of the Water and cut the traditional Vasilopita of the Consulate. Present at this festive sunaxis, apart from the Honourable Consul General Mr George Diakofotakis and his wife, were all the diplomatic and administrative staff of the Greek Consulate.

REPRESENTATIONS OF HIS BEATITUDE

    On 6th January 2008, His Grace Gabriel of Mareotis, the Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Panteleimon Arathymos, Director of Developmental Works of the Patriarchal Throne, represented His Beatitude on a visit to the Vicariate of the Coptic Church of the Great City of Alexandria and offered festive wishes for Christmas, which the Coptic Church celebrates on 7th January.

    His Grace Nikodimos, Bishop of Nitria, Patriarchal Vicar of Cairo, visited Pope Shenouda III, in the Egyptian Capital on 7th January, representing His Beatitude, to extend his best wishes for the festive season.
