On 3rd April 2008, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa received at the Patriarchal See, His Grace Bishop Theodoros of Mozambique, who reported to him on the spiritual and missionary work being undertaken in that oart of Africa. His Beatitude also collaborated with His Grace on issues regarding the organization of a general asssembly of the Pan-African Council of Churches, which is to take place in Maputo, Mozambique, October 2008. They also discussed the inauguration of the Holy Cathedral of the Archangels which His Beatitude will conduct during his impending visit to Mozambique.
On 4th April, the Venerable Primate of the Patriarchal Throne of St Mark, officiated at the Servcie of the 4th Salutations to the Most Holy Theotokos at the Holy CHurch of St Elias in Alexandria. During his homily, His Beatitude spoke of the theological significance of the service, and then thanked the Hellenic Community of Alexandria for their intention of handing over the above-named church to the Ancient Patriarchate.
