VISIT OF THE NEW CONSUL GENERAL OF GREECE IN ALEXANDRIA TO THE PATRIARCH OF ALEXANDRIA

His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa received on Thursday, 26th October 2023 in the Patriarchal See, the Most Honourable Mr Ioannis Pyrgakis, the new Consul General of Greece in Alexandria.

Addressing the new Consul General, His Beatitude briefly referred to the historical journey and current sacrificial ministry of the Alexandrian Church on the African continent, as well as the centuries old presence of Hellenism in the City of Alexander the Great. In conclusion, he wished him absolute success as he begins his responsible duties.

For his part, the Most Honourable Mr. Pyrgakis expressed his joyful feelings on undertaking his service in famous Alexandria, which is the cradle of Hellenism and Christianity, assuring the esteemed Primate of the Patriarchal Throne of Saint Mark, that he will be a constant supporter and assistant inthe multifaceted work of the Supreme Patriarchate.

This was followed by a private meeting in the private Patriarchal Office, as well as a guided tour for the Consul General of the premises of the Patriarchal Palace.
