VISIT BY THE GREEK MINISTER OF DEFENSE MR KAMMENOS TO THE HOLY MONASTERY OF ST GEORGE IN CAIRO

On 20th April 2015, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, welcomed the Minister of Defense of Greece Mr. Kammenos to the historic, God-walked and Patriarchal Mpnastery of St George Old Cairo, in the presence of Their Eminences Alexios Metropolitan of Carthage, George Metropolitan of Guinea, Niphon Metropolitan of Pilousion, Hegumen of the Holy Monastery and Their Graces Meletios of Naukratis, Hegumen of the Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas in Alexandria and Chrysostomos Bishop of Berenice, in the framework of his official visit to Egypt.  

His Beatitude briefed the Minister on the efforts and the contribution of the Patriarchate in Egypt and throughout Africa.

He also took the Minister on a conducted tour of the recently renovated Church, the underground museum areas and the tombs of the Patriarchs.
