THE PATRIARCH OF ALEXANDRIA WELCOMES THE NEW YOUTHS OF THE CHURCH FROM AFRICA

On the 24th September 2019, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa officiated at Orthros and the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of Saint Savvas in Alexandria, on the occasion of the feast of the Holy Virgin Myrtidiotissa, who he particularly venerates.

On the same day, he welcomed to the Patriarchal Court, the two deacons from Africa, together with two other African candidates for the priesthood, who come from the Congo and Tanzania, who will be hosted at the monastery of Saint Savvas in order to be properly trained for their future path, who he paternally embraced and urged them to love Orthodoxy and the Patriarchate.

Saint Savvas will be the spiritual field for the Patriarchate of Alexandria, where the youth of tomorrow will be prepared for the Church of Saint Mark, and who will work at our missions on the African Continent.

The Alexandrian Patriarch’s burning desire is to staff the Academy of Saint Athanasios and the operation of the Theological Academy of Alexandria, “ALEXANDER THE GREAT”, because the center of gravity for external missions is and will always be Alexandria.
