THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE ASSOCIATION OF HELLENES FROM EGYPT IN GREECE MEETS WITH HIS BEATITUDE – OTHER MEETINGS

    On the morning of 19th May 2011, in the Patriarchal Office in Athens, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa met with the newly-elected Executive Committee of the Association of Hellenes from Egypt, headed by Mrs Chrystallo Trimi who paid their respects to His Beatitude.

     His Beatitude wished them the blessings of the Risen Christ, for the enormous social, cultural and humanistic work undertaken by the Association , which is always  ready to offer assistance and support to the Alexandrian Patriarchate, which in turn remains and will always remain as a custodian and guard in the Land of the Nile of Orthodoxy and whatever it holds sacred.

     It is worth noting that His Beatitude has a long-standing friendship with the committee and especially with the new Chairperson, Mrs Trimi, from the time when he served as Bishop of Cyrene and Exarch of the Patriarchate in Athens.”

     On the same day His Beatitude received a visit from the Honourable Mr. Nektarios Polychroniou, Honourary Consul of Botswana in Greece together with his wife. The Patriarch asked for the assistance of the Consul for the newly-established Diocese of Botswana in its first steps. The Consul assured His Beatitude that both the government, the officials and the peace-loving people of Botswana as well as he, himself, would always support the Ancient Patriarchate and its Missionary Diocese and would do all that is possible for the success of this Mission in this African country.
