THE COPTIC PATRIARCH WARMLY WELCOMES THE ALEXANDRIAN PRIMATE

On 18th June 2019, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa paid a visit to His Beatitude the Patriarch of the Copts, Tawadros II, on the occasion of the festive functions for the 50th anniversary of the construction of the Holy Church of St Tekla of the Coptic Church.

The meeting took place at the See of the Coptic Patriarchate in Alexandria, with the presence of the Patriarchal Vicar, His Eminence Narcissus of Accra.

During the meeting, the two Primates had the opportunity to discuss and exchange many thoughts, views concerns, regarding the relations between the two Churches in Egypt, the current image and Christian presence in the Middle Eastern region, for assistance and immediate reinforcement, as there is massive migration and minimization of Middle Eastern Christians.

They also discussed extensively the co-operation and forthcoming meeting in Egypt, of all heads of Christian churches in the Middle East, in order to discuss the burning issues such as the future of Christians in the Middle East and the problem of refugees.
