PILGRIMAGE VISIT BY HIS BEATITUDE ARCHBISHOP CHRISTOPHOROS OF CZECHIA AND SLOVAKIA TO THE ALEXANDRIAN PATRIARCHATE

 

         On 4th November 2007, His Beatitude Christophoros of Czechia and Slovakia, on an unofficial pilgrimage visit to Alexandria, conducted the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Cathedral of the Annunciation, with His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa present in the Holy Sanctuary. Prior to the end of the Sunday Liturgy His Beatitude addressed Archbishop Christophoros, praising the of Czechia and Slovakia, because “during troubled times in the past it kept the flame of the orthodox faith lit”.

 

          His Beatitude, in the presence of His Grace Gabriel of Mareotis and Gennadios of Neilopolis, the Consul General of Greece in Alexandria Mr George Diakofotakis and many pilgrims who had come from Czechia and Slovakia and from Kyrenia in , received His Beatitude Christophoros in the Throne Room of the Patriarchal Residence, where commemorative gifts were exchanged.
