PATRIARCHAL LETTER ON THE PASSING OF THE FORMER ARCHBISHOP CHRYSOSTOMOS I OF CYPRUS

     On being notified of the passing of the former Archbishop Chrysostomos I of Cyprus on 22nd December 2007, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa sent the following Patriarchal letter to His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos II of New Justinia and All Cyprus:

     “Your Beatitude Archbishop of New Justinia and All Cyprus, Chrysostomos, beloved brother and concelebrant of My Humility, I fraternally embrace Your Beattude and address You:

     On hearing of the passing to the Lord of His Beatitude the former Archbishop Chrysostomos I of Cyprus, who for many years led the Apostolic and martyred Church during difficult times for it and the Nation, I send this letter to pass on to you and to the Venerable Hierarchs, the Priests and the Christian people of the Church of the Apostle Barnabas, my sincere condolences, praying that the God of Life and Death will place him with the Saints and the Righteous.

      I wish you a long life, blesses by divine gifts and treasures, and I remain in the Lord’s love
