PATRIARCHAL CON-CELEBRATION IN MOSCOW

      On 4th September 2010 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, arrived in Moscow, from the Caucasus. At the airport in the Russian capital, His Beatitude was welcomed by the Exarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Moscow, His Eminence Metropolitan Athanasios of Cyrene, His Grace Bishop Alexandros of Dmitrov and Hieromonk Stephanos Igoumnov, representing the Department of External Ecclesiastical Affairs.

      The next day, Sunday 5th September 2010, a Patriarchal Con-celebration was held at the Holy Cathedral of Christ the Saviour by His Beatitude and His Beatitude Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia

      Participating also at the Eucharistic Synaxis were Their Eminences and Their Graces Metropolitans and Bishops of Saransk and Mordovia Barsanoufios, Ilarion of Volokalamsk, Athanasios of Cyrene, Alexandros of Astana, Theophanis of Berlin, Arsenios of Istra, Innocent of Korsoum, Evgenios of Verroea, Antonios of Borospil, Ambrosios of Gatsina, Aristarhos of Kemerovo and Sergios of Soltsenogorsky.

      During their mutual addresses the Venerable Primates mentioned the centuries old historic bonds of the two Churches and their current perfect collaboration.

      We should mention that during the Divine Liturgy the ordination of the new Assistant Bishop, Nestor of the Metropolis of Korsoum, took place.
