HOLY PASCHA IN ALEXANDRIA

     His Beatitude Theodoros II Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa conducted the Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Alexandria where he received the Holy Light which arrived from the All Holy Sepulchre which was transferred from Athens to the Patriarchal See on an Olympic Airways flight, under the care and initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Greece.

     On Pascha Sunday His Beatitude Officiated at the Vespers of Love at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria. He then immediately went to visit the aged at the Kaniskerion Old Age Home and attended the Paschal lunch which was hosted b y the Hellenic Community for everyone.

     Present at the Holy Services and the Festive functions were His Excellency the Ambassador of Greece in Egypt Mr. Christodoulos Lazaris, His Excellency the Ambassador of the European Union in the Land of the Nile, the Honourable Consul General of Greece in the Great City Mr. Christos Kapodistrias, the Chairman of the Hellenic Community Mr. Ioannis Siokas, Chairmen of Hellenic Societies and Brotherhoods and many faithful.
