HIS BEATITUDE CONDUCTED THE SERVICE OF THE 3rd STASIS OF THE SALUTATIONS IN CAIRO

On 25th March 2011, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa travelled to Cairo, where he conducted the service of the 3rd Stasis of the Akathist Hymn at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Heliopolis, together with His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios of Carthage and His Grace Nikodimos, Bishop of Nitria and Patriarchal Vicar in Cairo.

Preaching the homily, His Beatitude spoke of the Mother of God, whose holy life is connected with the land of the Nile and told the large congregation about his recent missionary trip to Uganda and Kenya.

In closing and expressing the gratitude of the Alexandrian Church to Mr. Claude Naka, Chairman of the Arabic speaking Community of Heliopolis in Cairo, for the multifaceted and profitable activity he has developed, he gave him an icon of the All Holy Virgin.
